Day 6 – The Pacific Coast

I woke up this morning in LA & I’m writing this post in Monterey!  It was a beautiful Sunday to travel up the Pacific Coast Highway with Curt on our way up to Monterey.  Matt started the day with a VIP quality tour of Venice Beach, Malibu, and Pepperdine (where he works).

Curt and I then hit the road for almost 6 hours as we drove to Monterey with short stops in Santa Barbara (where we will be later this week) and San Luis Obispo (for an AMAZING tri-tip sandwhich).  During our drive, we spoke a lot about who we each are as individuals and how we arrived at the present.  It helped to remind me just how much of a defining moment my mom’s death has been in my life.  It’s changed how I look at virtually every aspect of my life.

We talked about our cancer connections and how it changes perspective on so many levels.  I also reflected back on the 1st week of this journey and had some pretty interesting thoughts that I may share in a later post, but for now they are just bouncing around in my head.

Today’s cancer connection is 1 that has been shared by someone that you guys should already be familiar with, Marijean Jaggers.  She posted her cancer connection on her blog and I invite all of you to please read it!  Be sure to check out the rest of her site as well, she’s a great writer and a HUGE part of the 29 Days Until 29 journey!  Click HERE to check it out!
