Cross Country Trip For Cancer Awareness
A Virginia man is flying all across the United States to raise cancer awareness. Drew Lawrence made a brief stop in Burlington Friday. His mom died from brain cancer in 2001.
He’s traveling 33,000 miles to share his experience and build relationships with others who have been impacted by the disease.
“If you’ve got an opportunity to do something incredible now, do it now. Because when all is said and done it’s the memories that you’re going to remember, not the stuff. So go make memories,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence is a third of the way through the trip.
He’s using Jet Blue’s “All You Can Jet Pass” to fund the flights, and social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter, to get around.
Lawrence heads to Boston on Saturday, and then on to Denver. His trip ends October 6.
