Homer Simpson once said, “Mmm, doughnuts!” I think he said it a lot more than once, but you get the point. Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR is Homer Heaven.
I had a doughnut with bacon on it. Then I had another donut with Captain Crunch Berries on it. As you can see from the picture, you can get a doughnut with anything you want on it. If you’re ever in Portland, OR you MUST stop at Voodoo Doughnuts. Then walk just up the street to Stumptown Coffee and grab a delicious cup of Joe. While Voodoo is well known, my gracious couch surfing host, Colette, told me about Stumptown. She also is the person who told me about the Portland connection to the Simpsons.
I’m not a Simpsons aficionado by any means, as a matter of fact I can’t tell you the last time that I watched an episode (sorry Jordan, I know you are disappointed in me), but as I was walking thru Portland there were a lot of familiar names: Burnside, Flanders, Lovejoy, Montgomery, Seymour, etc… Turns out there is an entire website dedicated to this phenomenon.
